Why We Built AIClarum
When Lisa Anderson left her role as a senior policy director at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, she had spent three years co-authoring the AI Bill of Rights. She had seen firsthand how organizations deploying AI systems struggled to explain their decisions — not because they were hiding anything, but because the tools to do so simply did not exist at scale.
She partnered with Thomas Berg, who had spent a decade at IBM Research building the open-source explainability tools that data science teams worldwide depend on, and Diana Okonkwo, whose 15-year career spanned the drafting of the EU AI Act's technical annexes and advising Fortune 500 companies on AI governance.
Together, they founded AIClarum in 2024 with a single purpose: to give every organization the tools to make AI genuinely transparent. Not just checkbox compliance — real explainability, measurable fairness, and audit trails that hold up under regulatory scrutiny.
